Where most of our crew starts — and where you learn the trade. General labor on every kind of job: digging and grading, mixing and carrying mortar and concrete, setting and stripping forms, placing rebar, scaffold setup, demo, backfill, and keeping the site clean. No experience needed — show up, work hard, and we train you up toward Finisher or Mason.

• Dig, grade, and prep the sub-base by hand
• Mix and carry mortar/concrete and stage materials
• Set and strip forms; place and tie rebar and wire mesh
• Set up and break down scaffolding safely
• Demo, backfill, and keep the work area clean and organized

The skilled concrete craft — you finish what the crew sets up: striking off, floating, troweling, edging, and texturing concrete after the pour. Fast, accurate work under time pressure. Most Finishers grow into it from Laborer; flatwork experience moves you up the range.

• Strike off, float, and edge fresh concrete after the pour
• Trowel to the specified finish — broom, smooth, or exposed aggregate
• Work quickly and accurately as the concrete sets
• Cut control joints and apply sealer on the return visit
• Inspect the finished surface and maintain finishing tools

The skilled masonry craft — lay brick, block, and stone: chimneys, foundations, retaining walls, tuckpointing, rebuilds, crowns and caps, parging, and waterproofing membrane. Clean, lasting work to the layout lines. Most Masons grow into it from Laborer; experience moves you up the range.

• Lay brick, block, and stone to the layout lines

Run the crew day to day on any job — concrete or masonry. Set the layout and the lines, assign tasks, manage the schedule and materials, hold the crew to a high standard, and keep the site safe. This is where you land after you have mastered a craft and can lead a team.

• Set the layout/lines and assign daily tasks to the crew
• Manage the pour/build schedule and material deliveries
• Verify forms/walls are right before the pour or next stage
• Inspect work quality and correct issues before they compound
• Be the last set of eyes before we leave a job site

Keep both crews stocked and ready to work — manage material inventory, stage job loads, receive deliveries, and make sure nothing runs out mid-job. This role keeps the whole operation moving.

• Maintain accurate stock counts for materials and supplies
• Stage and load materials for each day's jobs
• Receive deliveries and verify against purchase orders
• Flag low-stock items before they affect a job
• Keep the yard organized and tools properly stored after each day

Support day-to-day operations from the office — scheduling, invoicing, customer follow-up, and keeping things organized. Part-time position based in Munising.

• Answer customer calls and follow up on inquiries
• Schedule jobs and coordinate crew calendars
• Process invoices and track outstanding payments
• Coordinate vendor orders and material deliveries
• Support ownership with reporting and day-to-day admin tasks
